Our living room is a fantastic size, but a rather awkward long and narrow shape. For a while now I have wanted to turn it into an area that is cosy but modern for family time and fun. All it needed was a lick of paint and some beautiful artwork and accessories. During my search for the perfect artwork, Posterlounge got in touch with an opportunity I couldn’t refuse.
As I said above, I wanted a room that was cosy but modern. I wanted to paint the walls a warm colour that would work with a range of accessories. Eventually I chose steel smoke from Johnstones. It looks gorgeous and doesn’t make the room too dark as we are blessed with huge windows that let in lots of light.
I ordered two copper ceiling lampshades and a copper lampshade for our floor lamp from Amazon. The cushions on our black faux leather sofas are grey and red, which works perfectly with the new wall colour.
I moved the accessories and photo frames around to give the room a new lease of life and adorned the larger wall with my new wall art from Posterlounge. I chose the Scarlet Ibis Eudocimus Ruber Flock In Flight (pictured above) print on acrylic glass mounted on a black wooden frame. It’s the perfect size for our living room (60×40) and looks absolutely beautiful.
I also chose the she turned her can’ts into cans and her dreams into plans print, again on acrylic glass mounted on a black wooden frame (50×50) for my newly decorated bedroom.
