Summer Holiday Bucket List.

Summer Holiday Bucket List.

Do you make a school holiday bucket list? I love the feeling I get when I tick something off my 30 before 30 bucket list and I can’t wait to make a start on our summer holiday bucket list – it’s going to be a summer to remember!

I don’t drive, and buses are pretty pricey. As you can imagine, it’s quite difficult to plan big days out when transport is difficult and funds are low. Here in Norfolk we have a great range of facilities, I recently published ‘Family Days Out In Norfolk’ which is full of great ideas for days out and affordable fun but not all are easily accessible for us, therefore we have compiled a summer holiday bucket list and we intend to tick off as many as we can before school begins again in September.

The six-week break from school is always welcomed in this house. I love not having to rush anywhere, get up or early or pack lunch boxes. The children are much the same, they love just relaxing in their pyjamas with no immediate need to be anywhere. Time to unwind is vital, but so is making memories and cherishing every moment with my children.

Our summer holiday bucket list –

  • Go to the beach.
  • Camp in the back garden.
  • Family bike rides.
  • Fly kites.
  • Have a water fight.
  • Have a BBQ with all of our friends.
  • Visit a farm.
  • Have a picnic in the forest.
  • Go on a nature walk and search for bugs.
  • Plant new plants in the garden.
  • Grow sunflowers.
  • Go to the circus.
  • Go to the cinema.
  • Make wind-chimes and dream catchers.
  • Go to a park we haven’t been to before.
  • Make a den and watch a movie in it (with popcorn of course).
  • Make pasta jewellery.
  • Junk modelling.
  • Make home-made ice cream.
  • Make a summer scrapbook.
  • Bake a cake.
  • Bake cookies.
  • Visit a PYO and make crumble from our fruity findings.
  • Have a movie marathon.
  • Visit the arcades.
  • Film as many special moments as possible – watch our day in the life videos over on our YouTube channel.

I bloody love a list! I don’t feel like I’ve properly achieved something if I can’t tick it off a list of some sort. I need to ponder summer holidays – though I’ll only have a week with my kids as I’m working. Will have to fit a lot in! Main aims; get the Big One to ride a bike without stabilisers, teach both of The Boys to swim, start the annual sunflower growing competition – this time without the fights over who owns which flower! #dreamteam

I love a list too. Looks like you and your children will be having a great summer holiday! We’re hopefully going away in our campervan so will spend most of our time on a beach, fingers crossed! #dreamteam

These are lovely ideas. I think it’s lovely when the whole family pull together and create a to do list like this. May you make many wonderful memories. #DreamTeam

My plan for the UK summer – move to the UK and settle my kids. Our arrival at the end of June will be right in the middle of summer, coming from right in the middle of winter so I’m sure my girls will be over the moon. They are not cold weather fans.
    Poor kids! lol
