My 26th birthday is in less than 10 days. 26 seems like such a big number, another step closer to 30. I know 30 is meant to be the new 40 but I don’t think I’ll ever feel like a ‘proper’ adult! When people ask me what I’d like for my birthday, I’m usually stumped. This year I’ve put together a wish list. I’ve been building this wish list for a few months now. I don’t want to forget when the inevitable question is asked.
Each month I try my best to do a monthly favourites video over on the YouTube channel. This should give friends and family a good idea of what I like or need. But if they aren’t inspired by those, they can take a look at the list below. Obviously I’m not expecting the moon on a stick, I hate other people spending money on me, but if I don’t ask I don’t get right?
You may not think my birthday wish list is a typical birthday wish list, but these are things I want or need to make my life a little easier. I have included a few little luxuries though, it can’t be all about the house/kids!
Washing the dishes is a job I hate – it’s never-ending!
I know this is a seriously boring item to place at the top of my wish list, but I’d absolutely love a dishwasher (aff). Dishwashers are a bit like marmite, you either love them or hate them. I detest doing the washing up, but hate it piling up. I end up doing it 2 or 3 times a day. I’d love to be able to load the dishwasher, shut the door, press a button and let it do its thing.
I need an excuse to get dressed up, a birthday is the perfect opportunity.
The children have a wardrobe full of gorgeous clothes, but I’m still wearing jeans from 2012. I’d love an excuse to ditch the jeans/leggings and hoodies and wear a stunning dress (aff). No heels though, I can’t walk more than a few steps in those these days. A new lipstick (aff) to go with my new dress would also be much appreciated.
My main goal for 2019 is set up my own photography business.
I’m passionate about photography and I adore capturing memories. I’d absolutely love to go professional. It’s going to be a long and slow process but I’m determined to make it happen. There are several items on my list of things I need to get started including more photography lighting (aff). Other items include a light reflector and diffuser (aff) and a new tripod (aff).
The closest I get to reading a book is the bedtime story.
I try to make time to indulge in a little self-care and read a book as much as possible. I’m slowly but surely making my way through my reading pile so I’d really like some new books for my birthday. I’d love Lily Allen’s new book (aff) or Why Mummy Drinks by Gill Sims (aff).
I don’t want to sound greedy so I’m going to end my wish list there. If you think of something else I might like please feel free to let me know in the comments below!
