Awareness Apparel: A Spoonful Of Stars – DISCOUNT CODE.

A Spoonful Of Stars offers unique products to encourage and inspire invisible illness warriors and their supporters. The range of awareness apparel which includes mirrors, phone cases, t-shirts, hoodies and pill pouches have been specially designed by illustrator Sara Lloyd. A Spoonful of Stars hopes to raise awareness of the invisible illness community and I for one am proud to promote such a wonderful business.

Recently Sara got in touch with me and offered me the opportunity to review items from her eye-catching range of awareness apparel. As someone who goes to battle with crippling anxiety every single day, I couldn’t wait to receive the items I chose.

It was so hard to pick just two items out of such a beautiful range. As regular readers will already know, I have struggled with mental health difficulties for over a decade. I have to keep going, regardless of how I am feeling, so I chose the Keep Going Women’s Hoodie in bottle green and a Still Beating Adjustable Heartbeat Ring in silver.

Before I tell you more about my awareness apparel, let me tell you more about the lovely Sara. Sara was a healthy woman living a whirlwind life at university, until glandular fever struck. Since then, she has faced a gruelling battle with chronic fatigue and several other physical and mental symptoms. She now lives in rural New Zealand with her husband and little boy. Before her A Spoonful Of Stars adventure began she was a freelance illustrator and ghostwriter.

Everyone is fighting a battle we know nothing about, it’s so important to be kind, always.

A Spoonful of Stars aims to start conversations and unite the invisible illness community worldwide. I know only too well how tough living with a debilitating illness is. I also know how hard it can be to support someone who is battling invisible illness. My mental health struggles can be soul-destroying and my best friend suffers with fibromyalgia. I have worn my keep going hoodie and ‘still beating’ adjustable ring with pride ever since they landed on my doormat because I am immensely proud of everything we have both achieved despite our struggles.

The Keep Going Hoodie in bottle green is quite possibly my new favourite item of clothing. It is super soft, and it looks great with my favourite mustard scarf! It’s soft material is perfect for those who suffer from pain conditions or sensitive skin. What size you should order will depend on the kind of fit you are after from your hoodie. Usually I am a size 10-12, my hoodie is the medium size (available in sizes small medium and large). It leaves plenty of room for layers underneath which is just how I like my hoodies to be, I can’t stand hoodies that feel restricting. However, if you prefer your hoodies to be snug, I’d recommend the medium size for sizes 12-14. If you like a baggy hoodie like me, I’d recommend the medium hoodie for sizes 10-12.

The adjustable ‘Still Beating’ ring is perfect for those with dainty fingers like me. It’s minimalist design is perfect for everyday wear and I love that I can wear it on whichever finger I chose thanks to it’s adjustable back. It is delicately eye-catching and I absolutely love it.
