It’s been a very long time since I’ve written an interior inspiration post, but as I’m in the process of making our new house a home I decided to dust off my mood board making skills and create a vision for my upcoming bathroom makeover.
Unfortunately I can’t start transforming our bathroom until a few issues have been ironed out with fixtures, fittings and plastering. If you know me personally you’ll know that I lack patience, so in a bid to distract myself from the seemingly never-ending wait for the work to be done, I’ve been making plans. Pinterest is a great platform for interior inspiration, so if you fancy creating an interior inspiration mood-board definitely check out the interior ideas on my Home And Garden board.
In a bid to make our home light, airy and easily adaptable, I’ve kept the colour scheme grey throughout. I love grey interiors, but I’m also not afraid of a little colour, which I’ve introduced in the children’s recently transformed bedroom.
The bathroom will be no different, the walls will be grey just like the kitchen, my focus when it comes to the bathroom is how I dress those grey walls and accessorise the walls. Crown Matt Emulsion Soft Grey is a great base colour, not too light but not too dark either, it works well in every single room.
I love fun framed prints like the ‘Wash Your Hands You Filthy Animal’ print (aff) pictured above. It’ll raise a smile whenever anyone walks into the room and sees it, it’s cheeky and slightly ‘tongue in cheek’ – I know for a fact that kids will love it too!
I’m working with quite a small space, so anything that maximises the space we have is a definite must-have. I love grey bathroom furniture and I already have a grey under sink cabinet (aff), laundry basket (aff) and storage tub (aff). I’m definitely going to invest in a matching toilet roll cupboard (aff). I love that I can keep cleaning products, loo roll and toiletries out of sight.
A must-have for our bathroom makeover is shelving. I really don’t like pine or oak wood, so I’m hoping to purchase one or two black, white, grey or industrial style shelves (aff) to position above the toilet. The shelves will be used to products we use every day such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo etc.
Last but not least, I’m going to invest in a new toilet seat. I know, the height of glamour and luxury right?! Jokes aside, not only is a replacement toilet seat needed, I’d also quite like one that adds a little character to the room. You won’t find a glitter coated, nautical themed toilet seat in our bathroom, I’m steering clear of those types, but I do like this marble effect toilet seat (aff), it’s subtly different.
What do you think? Are you looking forward to seeing my bathroom makeover vision come to life? I sure am! I love making plans for our home, and I love it even more when something turns out exactly how I saw it in my mind. I’d love product recommendations or storage suggestions to truly maximise our space, so if you have any pearls of wisdom to share please feel free to leave a comment below.
