Do you want to use Tailwind to grow your blog but you have no idea where to start? If yes, then this is the post for you. My beginner’s guide to Tailwind for Pinterest will tell you everything you need to know and my personal experience of this powerful tool.
This post is going to focus on Tailwind for Pinterest as I don’t use it for my Instagram content. If you are looking for a helpful guide to Tailwind for Pinterest check out this great post from Big World Small Pockets.
I’ll start by telling you exactly what Tailwind is and what it does.
It wouldn’t be a beginners guide to Tailwind for Pinterest if I didn’t start with the basics would it? Tailwind is a fantastic way to schedule content on Pinterest and Instagram. It allows you to easily manage and maintain your presence online with a huge range of tools to help you reach your potential. These tools include smart scheduling, analytics and monitoring, hashtag suggestions, tribes and content discovery. Tailwind saves you time, increases efficiency and measures your success. It has maximised the potential of this blog and boosted my reach and page views far more than I thought possible.
How does it work?
Tailwind for Pinterest allows you to automatically optimise a content schedule based on when your audience is most engaged, giving your pins the best chance of being seen. You can schedule a pin for a specific date and time or add a pin to a queue that’s connected to one of your pre-set optimised schedules.
Adding a pin to Tailwind is easy. Simply upload your pin image to your drafts, choose which Pinterest board its destined for, add a keyword-rich description, add a link to the content your pin is associated with and either schedule or add it to your queue. It really is as easy as that! Your pin will then go live at the allocated time.
You can schedule pins days/weeks/months in advance. This allows you to focus on what you really love, content creation. Tailwind is a sanity saver.
When your pin is uploaded you’ll notice two buttons above your content link – add to tribes and add to smartloop. I’ll be honest, smartloop is something I’m yet to make use of, but this post will tell you all about what smartloop is and what it does.
What is Tailwind Tribes?
Tailwind Tribes connects peers from similar niches. Each tribe consists of like-minded peers helping each other to reach their potential by scheduling each other’s content, therefore amplifying it’s reach. As mentioned above, when you schedule a pin you will see two buttons just below the description box. The left button will bring up a list of all the tribes you are in. All you need to do is select which tribes you would like your pin to be placed in, confirm your choices and continue to schedule your pin as explained above.
When your pin is published, it will be added to the selected tribes alongside similar content. Together this provides a fantastic range of relevant content for you to add to your queue. It’s vital that you schedule a good balance of your own content, historical pins found under the ‘published’ tab in the publisher, and content from other tribe members.
The best bit? The free plan of Tailwind Tribes allows you to access 5 Tribes and the submission of 30 pieces of content a month.
My personal experience.
In the 12 months since I begun using Tailwind for Pinterest I have seen a huge increase in not only my pin impressions and views, but also my blog page views and visitors. Tailwind for Pinterest allows me focus on making a success of Just The Three Of Us without compromising my time. I spend just 1 or 2 hours a week using Tailwind to explore tribes, schedule pins for upcoming content, and fill my pre-set schedule.
Since using Tailwind I have noticed a huge difference in my productivity, efficiency and time management. Instead of spending hour after hour trying desperately to get my blog seen by the masses and seeing very little results, I’m spending a small amount of time each week focusing purely on Tailwind for Pinterest and watching the stats multiply before my eyes. I can’t recommend Tailwind for Pinterest enough.
What else can Tailwind offer?
Tailwind can offer so much more than Smart Scheduling, Smartloops and Tribes. You can also explore the potential of your content in depth using the options available under the Insights tab. You can easily discover which pins are performing well and which aren’t using the Pin Inspector, delve into the behaviours of your audience on your Pinterest boards using Board Insights and monitor your progress using Profile Performance.
How much does Tailwind cost?
Tailwind offers several plans with the option to either pay monthly or pay yearly. I pay $15 a month for the Plus plan, the plan most suitable for bloggers and small businesses. I also pay for a Tribes Powerup. You’ll need to explore the plans available and decide what is most suited to your needs. Whilst your deciding which plan is best for you why don’t you use my referral link to try Tailwind free for one month? Click here to activate your free month.
