We absolutely love where we live, Norfolk is an incredibly beautiful place with plenty to offer both young and old. One of our favourite places to visit in Norfolk is BeWILDerwood, which is just over an hour from home. We are also huge fans of Melsop Farm Park, a local farm park which offers a wide variety of animals to see and feed, indoor and outdoor play and fun events throughout the year. Last weekend we were lucky enough to be invited to the Christmas Spectacular at Melsop Farm Park, I couldn’t wait to take the children along and enjoy what Alex Morley Productions had created.
The Melsop Farm Park Christmas Spectacular features sensational acts including magic, singing, dancing and comedy. Tickets cost £12 for adults and £10 for children. Included in the price of the tickets is access to the farm and indoor and outdoor play areas. A visit to Santa’s grotto is an additional £5 and little ones will love feeding the real life reindeer. The Christmas Spectacular is running at Melsop until New Years Eve. Call 01953 665001 to book your tickets.
The host and brains behind the Christmas Spectacular, Robbie, is the host of the show and is as lovely off stage as he is on stage. We were welcomed with open arms. The children were given enormous portions of candy floss to munch on throughout the performances. Vocalist Natalie opened the show and sung a variety of Christmas songs throughout the show as well as a stunning rendition of Never Enough from The Greatest Showman.
There really was something for all ages and tastes in the Christmas Spectacular.
Theo was mesmerised by the magic tricks and comedy acts and Mia loved the fantastic performance by a group of children from a local dance school (pictured below) and Natalie’s wonderful singing. The Christmas Spectacular is one of the biggest Christmas events in the local area. In our opinion, Alex Morley productions well and truly nailed it.
2018 is the third year that Alex Morley Productions have put on a show at Melsop Farm Park but this is the first show I have attended. This is something I regret as I loved the performances just as much as the children! I’m quite a shy person in public but I couldn’t help but sing along to the songs and giggle a little too loudly at the comedy acts.
Are you worried that your little ones won’t be able to sit through the entire show? You’ll be pleased to know that there is a 15 minute interval halfway through. This allows you plenty of time to nip to the toilets and purchase refreshments. You can even let the children burn off some energy on the outdoor play area next to purpose-built theatre. Hot and cold drinks as well as snacks and meals are available from the cafe within the main building.
The show closed with a fantastic performance from multi-skilled foot juggling sensation Jane Russell.
I never knew what feet were capable of until we watched Jane spin, throw and catch a variety of objects with her feet. I have caught Theo trying to juggle with his feet on more than one occasion since we saw the show. He was fascinated! Jane has a truly unique skill which provided the perfect end to the show.
At the end of the show all of the acts gathered on stage. The entire audience applauded, but nobody applauded louder than Mia and Theo! They had a wonderful time and were well and truly exhausted by early evening. If you live in or are visiting Norfolk during the festive season and you are looking for family friendly Christmas fun I highly recommended attending the Melsop Farm Park Christmas Spectacular. We will definitely be returning next year.
We were very kindly gifted tickets to the Melsop Farm Park Christmas Spectacular in return for an honest review. All views and opinions are my own.
