In the early days of Just The Three Of Us/The Adventures Of An Allergy Mummy, I regularly shared recipes and food inspiration. As the years have gone by, my recipe content has ground to a halt, mainly due to Theo outgrowing many of his food allergies. The blog took a different direction, but today I’m delighted to share a new recipe with you once again, delicious dessert waffles made with the Vonshef Dual Round Waffle Maker.
These waffles are a firm favourite with the children and are quick and easy to make, just like my tasty granola. I love how versatile waffles are, they can be made sweet or savoury and easily be adapted to cater for dietary requirements.
The Vonshef Dual Round Waffle Maker makes creating delicious dessert waffles effortless. Simply plug it in, wait a short while for it to heat up and then pour in your waffle mixture. Your waffles are ready in less than 10 minutes and the non-stick coating ensures that your waffles will slide out perfectly formed. Are you worried about bulky appliances cluttering your kitchen? No need to fret, the Vonshef Dual Round Waffle Maker is surprisingly compact and the power cord wraps neatly around the body of the waffle maker.
Anyway, all this waffle talk is making me hungry, so let’s get on to the good stuff – the recipe! If you use this recipe to make your own waffles, please do share a photo of your creation via email (firstname.lastname@example.org), Instagram or Facebook.
Delicious dessert waffles ingredients –
- 250g plain flour
- 10g baking powder
- 15g caster sugar
- 5g salt
- 2 eggs
- 20ml vegetable oil
- 425ml milk
Firstly, turn on your waffle maker and set it aside to heat up whilst you prepare the waffle mixture. Simply combine the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl and then add the eggs, milk and oil. Whisk the mixture to remove any lumps, but be careful not to over mix. If you over mix the mixture, your waffles will be dense.
Using a ladel or a small mug, pour the mixture into the waffle maker. To avoid the mixture spilling out of the waffle maker, make sure you only fill the waffle moulds 3/4 full. The mixture will spread and expand to fill each mould.
Allow to cook for 5-8 minutes or until golden, then gently remove the waffles from the waffle maker using tongs or a spatula. Serve with your choice of toppings – we highly recommend chocolate sauce and fruit!
