My darling Mia,
Six whole years ago you catapulted into my life, unplanned, unexpected, but so completely adored. Your entrance into the world was slightly unconventional, I went from a carefree 18-year-old to a mother overnight. But I wouldn’t change a thing, not a single thing.
It’s been a hell of a ride hasn’t it? Me and you, we’ve been through so much together. Whenever the world has felt bleak, whenever I’ve felt hopeless, there you’ve been. My little best friend, I’m so proud to have created such a kind, caring, wonderful human being.
Today is the last day you will be 5. Tomorrow, at 9.03am, you will become a six-year-old. These six years have gone so fast – your my first-born, you’re the one that made me a Mummy, something I’d always dreamed of being. Granted, I didn’t plan on becoming a Mummy when I did, but everything happens for a reason, you were given to me when I needed you most.
From a bonny little cherub you have transformed into a truly beautiful young girl. Your smile lights up my world, the sound of your laughter fills me with so much joy I could burst.
You’ve embraced your role as a big sister and you really are incredible, Theo’s issues mean that you have matured beyond your years and your patience and understanding means the world to me. Sisterhood has transformed you. Your cheeky monkey boy adores you, he couldn’t be without his Princess Mia. Thank you, for being amazing.
Your sixth birthday may be just around the corner, the years may be flying by, but you’ll always be the little girl who climbs into bed beside me and wraps her arms around my neck, just because.
Happy birthday beautiful. I hope you enjoy your special day.
Mummy loves you so very much.
