We all love a bit of Mrs Hinch, we all love to have nice clean homes that both smell and look fresh, but how often do we stop and think about the impact on our planet? I’m guilty of using potent products, especially in my kitchen and bathroom and in my laundry. Until recently I hadn’t really considered quite how potent such products are. It wasn’t until I found myself nursing a headache after cleaning the sink that I stopped and thought about changing the products I use.
Theo suffers from asthma, so I always ensure I open windows and doors when using potent products, but is that enough? I don’t think so. Switching to eco-friendly cleaning products has a whole host of benefits for both your family, your home and the world around you. In today’s post I’m going to tell you everything you need to know about eco-friendly cleaning and the changes you can make today.
- Never underestimate the power of water. No, it won’t disinfect or smell like freshly cut lemons, but it will clean your surfaces well if you use a good quality cloth. There’s no need to carry a bucket around, simply wring out your cloth so that it’s damp rather than sodden and wipe the dust and muck away. No potent products needed, just a water supply is all you need.
- Explore the eco-friendly cleaning products available online or in-store. Jangro offer an extensive range of cleaning products to the hospitality and catering industries and the Jangro Enviro eco cleaning products range includes everything from floor cleaner to hand wash. These eco friendly cleaners comply with both ISO accreditation and EU regulations covering biodegradability and protection of the environment. They are also packaged in environmentally friendly packaging made from recycled materials.
- Swap your potent products for natural alternatives. Clean your microwave using half of a fresh lemon and a small dish of water, make your own cleaning sprays using water and essential oils or swap your air fresheners for cloths dotted with your favourite oils, using the same oil as you use in a homemade cleaning spray will leave your home smelling incredible.
