As a blogger, I am always looking for ways to boost my blog traffic. Most of it comes from Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The rest comes from Pinterest, and that’s all thanks to Tailwind. I am by no means an expert, and my stats are still quite low. However I have seen a drastic increase in activity since I started using the scheduling tool Tailwind earlier this month and I wanted to share my top tips with you.

Below you can see that in the last 9 months the impressions that pins from this website received have remained steady or risen. This has been reflected in my website sessions and views, I very rarely experience a dip in visits to my blog and that is largely thanks to Tailwind and Pinterest. I started using Tailwind towards the end of 2018 in the hope of expanding my audience, coincidence? I think not.
Tailwind is a scheduling tool which schedules pins for you. Not just your content, but others too. It cleverly schedules pins throughout the day and during the night which is great for gaining traffic from readers in different time zones. Sounds complicated I know, but it’s very easy to set up and use and allows me to use time I would have spent pinning doing something equally as productive on the blog. That’s not the best bit though, what I love most about Tailwind is Tailwind Tribes.
Tribes makes sourcing relevant pins to schedule a breeze. To explore tribes, simply click on the second option in the menu. From here, you can find tribes to join that are relevant to your niche. Some of my favorites are –
By pinning your content to a relevant tribe, you enable like-minded people to discover it. Fellow tribe members will add your pins to their pin schedule, therefore sharing your content far and wide.
When I add a pin to a tribe, I make sure that I add between 3-5 pins from other members to my queue. At the end of the day, we all want to get our content out there. Tribes enables Tailwind users to give each other a helping hand, and it takes no more than five minutes to do.
Within your tribes dashboard you can keep track of your pins and reach easily. Many tribes have a reach of over one million!
I always schedule content that is relevant to my niche, I wouldn’t share irrelevant content with my readers on Facebook or Twitter so why would I on Pinterest? It’s important to make sure your pins have good descriptions and SEO keywords. Make sure you always follow the rules of the tribes you are a part of. Other than that, your all set!

These are my personal results, but Tailwind publishes the Typical Results of Tailwind for Pinterest Members every year, so you can see exactly what the average growth rate looks like for their members.
